My Resume

Private Thai Lessons:

Online –         $150 for a block of 5 one-hour lessons
InPerson –     1000 baht / hour

It generally takes 5-6 hours to cover the bulk of the alphabet and the consonant class/tone rules assuming you spend 15-20 min/day drilling everything I give you (audio flashcards). After this you should be able to phonetically read just about anything. It takes a lot of practice beyond this to master the tone rules and actually be able to figure out what all those squiggles mean, but I can get you there very quickly.

I’m always happy to give a free sample lesson so you can get a good idea of how everything will work, why I charge what I do and voice any concerns before you commit to anything financially.

You can read about one student’s experiences here - FaranginThailand.com

    Hi Gwindarr,

Do u ever spend any time in Bangkok?Because I will be coming over around Sep/Oct and would really like to get some private lessons depending on the cost.If I could find some inexpensive short-term accomadation I might also go to Chaing Mai to study and have a look around also.

I’ve never really learnt Thai as such I just learned speaking from not having friends who could speak English.I would really like to learn tones and reading/writing!I already know the Kor gai-Hor nok huk (but not the classes) and all the single vowels + a few of the dipthongs & tripthongs.

When I get back I plan to study 1 month at Aksorn Thai school in Bangkok also.

    Thanks alot!

Sawaddee krap, I met you at Risa’s house, but I lost your business card and finally found it. Do you think that you could still hook me up with the flash cards or thai music that you mentioned when we talked. It would be greatly appreciated.

    Hope all is well,

    David Kamerman

Hi, I’m looking for an online conversation coach in thai and burmese. What do you call “reasonable rates’?
