สลัดผจญภัย – Pirate Adventure Part 1

Remember my last post about making connections?  Take a look at this word ผจญภัย – It usually means adventure, but if you break it up, you will find ภัย which I’ve mentioned before.  What might ผจญ mean if ภัย means danger and ผจญภัย means adventure ?

โจรสลัด pirate (โจร – thief,สลัด is pirate/buccaneer *spelling is the same as the English word ‘salad’  so an easy way to remember is imagine a pirate who hordes salad rather than treasure )

สังเกต observe 

ขาไม้ wooden leg

หนึ่งข้าง  one side (referring to the leg obviously)

มือตะขอ hook-hand

ผ้าปิดตา eyepatch (cloth-close-eye)
