You did it! We covered all 7 letters. Now while they are still fresh in your head, scroll on down to the flashcards below and practice all 7 of them a bit more while also hearing the sounds the consonants make. Each of the letters in the cards below will be pronounced as if it had an “AAW” vowel attached to it. It’s a lot easier for us to make out a consonant sound if it’s spoken with a vowel.

See if you can remember the keywords for each consonant and also how many of the sounds you can figure out just by listening. We’ll talk more about the tricker letters in the next couple of lessons.

Feel free to bookmark this quiz and come back to it anytime you need a refresher. If you really want to make sure you remember it all, come back twice a day for the next 2-3 days. It shouldn’t take you more than 5 minutes of review twice a day to get everything to stick.

Latest comments on the course:

  • “Having made a number of unsuccessful attempts to master Thai over the years, I stumbled upon the Learn Thai From A White Guy website and signed up for Read Thai in 2 Weeks. This is, by far, the best Thai language course I have ever come across. It is logically organised and the lessons are nicely divided into manageable parts so that you never become overwhelmed by the material. The style and presentation are quite unique. The course includes high quality audio samples, driven by point and click actions directly from the web browser, numerous practice exercises and a full set of SRS decks are available if you want extra offline practice. By the time you complete this course, you will be able to read Thai and work out the correct tones of each word. Then the fun begins.” – Tim G
  • “What I hope people understand about your approach is that once the time has been truly taken to train oneself in the sounds and rules of the language and script, vocabulary could then be learned virtually anywhere, and getting to that point is my goal- which so far your course is already proving to be the perfect catalyst for that, and I’m only 3 days in.” – Nick, USA
