Sorry - Learn Thai from a White Guy

Sorry

*Fun fact: One of the possible meanings for โทษ is “punishment” and ขอ is used when asking for someone to give or do something for you.  So technically, ขอโทษ means, “Please punish me….”

**If you look up “sorry” in a Eng-Thai dictionary you may come across เสียใจ. That’s only used when you are feeling bad about something that’s happened to someone else or sympathetic to them being hurt or sad. It is definitely not what you want to say when apologizing.
