I just got back from Vietnam and I’m a bit backed up on diary entries at the moment, so here’s a short one from Nov. It might be a bit rough for someone who is just beginning to read, but anyone who has spent a bit of time on the other entries should be able to plow through this without too much effort. Here’s the gdoc with the vocabulary.

วันนี้ฉันตื่นนอน 7:30น. รู้สึกง่วงนอนมากๆ แต่ก็นอนต่อไม่ได้ เพราะวันนี้มีเรียนตอน 9:00น. ก็เลยต้องตื่น… หลังจากนั้นก็ไปอาบน้ำแปรงฟัน และแต่งตัวไปมหาวิทยาลัย วันนี้แต่งหน้านานไปหน่อย ออกจากบ้านก็ปาเข้าไป 8:50 สายมากๆๆๆๆ ก็ต้องรีบขับมอเตอร์ไซค์ไปเรียน พอไปถึงมหาวิทยาลัยโชคยังดีที่อาจารย์ยังไม่ได้เริ่มสอน เพราะอาจารย์กำลังตั้งค่าคอมพิวเตอร์ เริ่มเรียนจริงๆ ก็ประมาณ 9:30น. อาจารย์พูดช้ามากๆๆๆๆ สงสัยกลัวนักเรียนฟังไม่รู้เรื่อง เลิกเรียนประมาณเกือบๆ เที่ยง รู้สึกหิวข้าวมาก จึงได้ชวนส้มไปทานข้าวที่ตลาด หลังจากนั้นเราก็แยกย้ายกันกลับบ้าน ระหว่างทางกลับบ้าน ฉันได้ไปแวะชื้อผลไม้ที่ตลาดหนองหอยให้พี่สาว
วันนี้ไม่มีอะไรเป็นพิเศษ เหตุการณ์ทุกอย่างดำเนินไปตามปกติ ตอนนี้ 23:45น. ฉันรู้สึกหิวข้าวมาก แต่ขี้เกียจไปซื้อ งั้นก็ไปนอนดีกว่า……บาย
Thank you so much for your posts! I’ve been self-studying Thai intensively for about a month, and this diary entry was the first “real” text that I have been able to slog through on my own. It’s wonderful to have the voice too, since I’m really more interested in being able to converse than being able to read… I know your site must take a lot of time — it’s very generous of you to provide so many free resources.
@Katya – Thanks for reading and the nice comment! The more you read, the more ammunition you will have for speaking. You need to do it to get good. Finding stuff you enjoy reading is the challenge.
