Warm it Up – The Diary

This is a short Thai reading exercise written as a diary entry by a native speaker.  It’s about a trip to Warm Up, a nightclub in Chiang Mai and an event that got the writer a little excited.  Below the text is a vocabulary list.

วันนี้ทุกอย่างดำเนินไปอย่างปกติ แต่ที่พิเศษสุดก็คือ….ได้เจอผู้หญิงคนหนึ่งเธอสวยมาก เธอมีผมสีดำ ตาสีน้ำตาลเข้ม ผิวสีแทน ตัวเล็ก และน่ารักมาก รู้สึกตื่นเต้นมากที่ได้เจอเธอที่วอมอัฟ (Warm Up) แต่เธอมากับเพื่อนอีก 2 คน ก็ทำให้เราไม่กล้าที่จะเข้าไปคุยด้วย แต่ไม่รู้ว่าวันนี้ทำไมโชคดีจัง ที่ได้เจอเธอระหว่างทางเดินไปห้องน้ำ เลยพูดทักทายเธอ แล้วเธอก็ยิ้มให้ รู้สึกได้ว่าตอนนั้นหัวใจเต้นแรงมากๆ ได้คุยกับเธอเพียงเวลาสั้นๆ ก็รู้สึกว่า คนนี้นี่แหละที่ตามหามานาน    ดีใจสุดๆตอนที่เธอให้เบอร์โทรมา เอาเป็นว่าพรุ่งนี้เราจะโทรหาเธอแล้วกัน คืนนี้ขอตัวไปนอนฝันถึงเธอดีกว่า ZZzzzz+++

• อย่างปกติ – as usual; like always
• แต่ but
• ที่พิเศษสุดก็คือ…. the most special thing was…
• ได้เจอผู้หญิงคนหนึ่ง – I met this girl
• เธอสวยมาก  – she was really beautiful
• เธอมีผมสีดำ – she had black hair
• ตาสีน้ำตาลเข้ม – dark brown eyes
• ผิวสีแทน – tan skin
• ตัวเล็ก – she was small
• และน่ารักมาก – and super cute
• รู้สึกตื่นเต้นมาก – I was really excited
• ที่ได้เจอเธอที่วอมอัฟ (Warm Up) – to have met her at Warm Up (pub in CM)
• แต่เธอมากับเพื่อนอีก 2 คน – but she came with 2 friends
• ก็ทำให้เราไม่กล้า – which made me not dare to
• ที่จะเข้าไปคุยด้วย – go in and talk (to her)
• แต่ไม่รู้ว่าวันนี้ทำไมโชคดีจัง – but I don’t know why today I’m so luck
• ที่ได้เจอเธอระหว่างทางเดินไปห้องน้ำ – to have met her while I was going to the bathroom
• เลยพูดทักทายเธอ – so I said hi to her (greeted)
• แล้วเธอก็ยิ้มให้ – and she smiled at me
• รู้สึกได้ว่าตอนนั้นหัวใจเต้นแรงมากๆ – my heart was beating really fast right then
• ได้คุยกับเธอเพียงเวลาสั้นๆ – I only got to talk with her briefly
• ก็รู้สึกว่า – and I felt that..
• คนนี้นี่แหละที่ตามหามานาน   – this is the one I’ve been searching for
•  ดีใจสุดๆตอนที่เธอให้เบอร์โทรมา – I was really happy that she gave me her phone number
• เอาเป็นว่าพรุ่งนี้เราจะโทรหาเธอแล้วกัน – and I’ll call her tomorrow
• คืนนี้ขอตัวไปนอนฝันถึงเธอดีกว่า ZZzzzz+++ – as for tonight, I’d better get to bed so I can start dreaming of her
