Diary of a White Guy’s Assistant

Back in 2012, I hired an assistant and had her write a diary in Thai to serve as beginner-intermediate content.  This is the first entry and is meant as a natural/native Thai reading exercise.   There’s a vocabulary list of some Thai words a beginner may not know and if you click on the link at the bottom, there’s a sheet with more vocab to help you read this text.

[2012] Things have been gotten a bit hectic since I put up the free lesson box on main page and so I’ve hired a part-time assistant to help out with some things. I have no clue if this will work out, but one of the things I’m getting her to do is write a diary a few days a week so we can get in some good practice reading. This one is pretty basic, but it never hurts to read easy stuff, especially if it’s authentic.

วันนี้เป็นวันเสาร์ เป็นวันหยุดพักผ่อนจากการเรียน ฉันตื่นตอนประมาณ 9:00น. หลังจากนั้นก็ไปอาบน้ำแปรงฟัน เวลาประมาณ 10:00น. ฉันรับประทานอาหารเช้ากับพี่สาวของฉัน เมนูวันนี้คือ ข้าวผัดหมูไข่ดาว ฉันชอบดื่มน้ำส้มทุกๆ เช้า แต่พี่สาวของฉันชอบดื่มน้ำแครอท หลังจากนั้นเราไปช็อปปิ้งที่โรบินสัน ฉันซื้อรองเท้าสีแดง 1 คู่ และเสื้อยืดสีขาว 1 ตัว ส่วนพี่สาวของฉัน เธอซื้อกางเกงยีนส์ 2 ตัว และกระโปรงสีดำอีกหนึ่งตัว

18:00น. เราเดินทางไปเที่ยวที่ถนนคนเดินกันต่อ วันนี้คนเยอะมาก และมีสินค้าต่างๆ มากมายว่างจำหน่าย เราได้ซื้ออาหารรับประทาน และเดินไปด้วย จนในที่สุดเรารู้สึกปวดเท้ามาก เพราะวันนี้ได้เดินซ็อปปิ้งทั้งวัน เราจึงพักหยุดที่ร้านนวดเท้า เราใช้เวลาในการนวดเท้า 1 ชั่วโมง หลังจากนั้นเราก็เดินทางกลับบ้าน
พอกลับมาถึงบ้านฉันรู้สึกเหนื่อยมาก ก็รีบไปอาบน้ำแปรงฟัน และจัดกระเป๋าหนังสือเตรียมตัวไปเรียนในวันพรุ่งนี้ ไปนอนแล้วดีกว่า…..ราตรีสวัสดิ์…..
