Tom – You are missing the point. It isn’t about what you can use. Language is too big for that. The secret is in what you are curious and/or care about. You need something to pull you in. I am trying to help you find it.
Tom, I don’t see why you would use abut 90% of the vocab in here. OK perhaps เซิร์ก and โอเวอร์ไมนด์ are fairly uncommon, but pretty much everything else is transferable to all sorts of situations. Gwindarr is right, it’s about flicking your switch so you’re not stuck reading Aesop’s Fabels and dry ‘at the restaurant’-type role plays, which are ultimately unfulfilling and dull.

Learning a language is such a monumental task that you can’t worry about what you need or don’t need. Just keep plugging away and things will start to click.
