   This is great, don’t you just love ผ่าน, anyway the point is when you SRS, would you recommend you add the whole line or just the words that you are interested in? Maybe add the whole line in the answer and slowly add more meat to it as you start to recognise it.
   The whole SRS thing is still a bit of a hit and miss to me. I just add Thai to the question, the answer is Roman Thai first (because I still need help) and the English translation (and sometimes the meaning if it is still not clear) if I have the audio, I add that to the answer. I have never have got Anki to test me. Please, please can you give some detailed guidance to SRS setup use as it seems to be the crux of the whole learning system.
   As always many many thanks
   ps I keep forgetting my vowels, have you got any tips …

     I cut up the audio for the chorus already. I suppose I could make a sample deck with that. I just need to find a good place to upload the stuff.

     It depends on what you already are comfortable with. Its ok if you can’t produce something yet, but if you understand ไม่ว่าจะ then you might build on that with one word. Its best to just have one thing that you aren’t solid with in a card. Or if you kinda know the whole phrase, but aren’t entirely sure of how/when to use it, then don’t add anything new, just SRS the phrase. You will encounter it again and by SRS’ing it..you are much more likely to make the connection.

     The sooner you move away from romanization the better. The sound system is very different from English and the associations while sometimes acceptable as a crutch early on should be disposed of as soon as possible. At some point you need to take off the training wheels if you are going to ride like the big kids.

     I have never have got Anki to test me.

     Get a feel for SRS’ing first if you’d like. You don’t want to make anything that will end up being too hard right now. If you want you could practice word or short phrase cards like this:
     Front: (blank) + (audio: ไป ไหน มา)
     Back: ไป ไหน มา
     This will help you a lot. The card plays the audio and you write it somewhere to check yourself. Then rate based on how you did. If you can’t write even one word properly you’d give it a 0 or 1 score. If you spelled one word wrong, maybe give yourself a 2. If you got it, but felt like you had to think about it too long or repeat the audio too many times then give it a 3.

     This info is all over the place. I’ve done a few posts and there is plenty online. If you have a specific question than go ahead and ask.

     SRS’ing is about solidifying connections in your brain. All the bricks in the wall are connected to other bricks. If I briefly tell you a word and you don’t encounter it again in the very near future, you will likely forget it. SRS’ing ultimately should help you by reducing the amount of stuff you forget.

     I could make all of your cards for you (this is what I’ve done for my private students) and it would almost certainly help, but at some point you should to know how to do it yourself.

     Which ones? You just haven’t practiced frequently enough yet.

     Studying does not necessarily equal learning.

   Yeah that’s an awesome idea. It’s definitely worked for me. If I could just give some of my own advice (sorry for hijacking!) I know a few songs word for word (and have managed to sing a few times in a bar with a band, drunk of course!). I’d suggest buying an album, choosing a song you like (bodyslam is my choice…sad I know!) and playing it over and over…(like you would an English song you like). Get the lyrics as well and then the reading will be easier, as you will already know how the words sound. Choose a song you like and you’ll be reading (and singing) it in no time. Choose a song you don’t like and you will get bored and not learn. Website below has loads of songs already translated.

     Good advice Gaz. The whole point of all this is to make the whole process fun as fun as possible. Find music you like and listen to it a few hundred times. Look at the lyrics too.

     Let me know if you have any video requests. I was thinking about doing one tonight, but I can’t decide on a topic.

   Yo.
   I haven’t really got any requests…just like listening to them over and over…so anythin is cool.
   I just find it difficult sometimes when I can hear people in the background (like the vid when u were the interviewer). If u can do a vid somewhere quieter that would be cool! lol.
